Apoorva’s First days
“We had a 3 and half hour onboarding led by an onboarding strategist. He took me through the history of Mixpanel, why Mixpanel was founded, he also talked about the entire business structure. He pulled in some of the IT personnel to help us troubleshoot some issues.
Basically, his main responsibility was to make sure our day one was productive, that we got everything in order for us to start, for us not to get overwhelmed. Everything we needed to fix and know, we did it during this time.
At the same time, he also acted as “my friend” and made me feel like I could voice my concerns or questions to him anytime. That was a great start of my first day at Mixpanel.
On the second day, we had a team lunch where we took an hour to catch up and socialize. I felt like it was a very nice way to meet the team even though it was done online.”
Challenges of Working Remotely
“I was also a bit apprehensive about time zone differences and meeting with a team whom I have never met in person. But I also think that we are adapting to this way of life now and getting better at connecting with each other on Zoom.”
